Distribution Supervisor at Fan Milk Plc


Fan Milk Plc is a leading manufacturer and marketer of healthy, nutritious and safe frozen dairy and non-frozen dairy food products with distribution channels across the length and breadth of Nigeria. Fan Milk Nigeria is a well established and fast growing food processing industry offering wide range of products.
We are recruiting to fill the following position:

Job Title: Distribution Supervisor

Responsibilities
  • Fan Milk Distribution Supervisor is directly responsible to the Fleet and Distribution for the effective and efficient monitoring of all vehicles/drivers for the distribution of Fan Milk ambient and frozen products across Northern region of Nigeria to Fan Milk customers.
  • The DS support Fleet and Distribution Manager to ensure prompt loading of trucks in order to meet customer’s daily request for Fan Milk products.
  • He is overall responsible to the Fleet and Distribution Manager;
  • Prepare all daily performance reports on Distribution activities
  • Monitor each trucks performance metrics: fuel per km, drops/day, and drops/day/truck
  • Provide feedback to Distribution Planner and Distribution Management on utilization and performance of trucks.
  • The Distribution Supervisor supports the Distribution Department through change and delivers results within the organization culture and value of Fan Milk Plc.
Work/Business Contact and Authority
(IPE Factor: Communication)
  • Government: Interact with relevant governmental institutions (Road Safety, Police, Local Government and other Government Officials etc).
  • Meet regularly with management team to ensure operations are being executed in accordance with the Fan Milk policies and plans.
  • Interact frequently with Distribution Centre, Mini-distribution Centre, Logistics, Customers service and Sales.
Principal Accountabilities

  • Ensure daily preventive mechanisms are carried out on the fleet in conjunction with the Distribution Fleet Supervisor by daily status report in orders to meet daily trucking needs.
  • Provide feedback to Distribution planner and Distribution Management on utilization and performance of trucks.
  • Vehicles/drivers monitoring to ensure operational targets are meeting as in targets and goals requirement.
  • To ensure daily loading of trucks for next day
  • Support Fleet Supervisor in planning for preventive maintenance and periodically maintenance.
  • Improve efficiencies in cost, productivity and customer service through proactive pursuance of development in technology & system as applicable.
Requirements
  • The right candidate should posses BSc/HND in Mechanical Engineering or Maritime Studies or Business Administration while knowledge of Fleet Management/Supply Chain Management or Logistics Management from a trucking Company is added advantage.
  • The candidate must understand fundamentals/management of trucking operation service would be an advantage.
  • Must have high degree of assertiveness across cultural and educational diversity
  • Extensive and thorough knowledge of supply chain management, logistics and/or distribution management
  • Must have some managerial and leadership knowledge also applying best practices to all section of the business.
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills with a collaborative work style, fostering cooperation and teamwork.
  • The successful candidate must be able to provide track record of achieving high level of productivity.
  • He/She must be skilled in negotiation and conflict resolution.
  • He/She must be able to handle company information with confidentiality and discretion.
  • Knowledge of major/local routes in the North would be an advantage.
  • Successful candidate for this position must be based in Kano.
  • Ability to speak and understand major languages in Hausa is a necessary requirement.
